Fact: This video was generated using Runway’s AI video generation tool Gen-3 Alpha, not real footage of the creature. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
To check the veracity of the viral claim, we performed a reverse image search on a few of the video’s keyframes. This search led us to an ‘X’ post by a user named @IXITimmyIXI. This is a better-quality version than the viral video.
In the comments section of this post, Timmy said yes to one user who asked him if it was AI-generated. He said that the video was generated using Runway’s Gen-3 Alpha tool. Timmy mentioned in his bio that he is a community manager at Runway.
